Golden Age | Dutch Inspired Boudoir Session
The idea for this shoot has been rolling around in my head since my undergrad days of studying 17th Century Baroque Art and Architecture. These photographs were mostly spired by Dutch still life artists (more specifically , Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring & his domestic scene portrait titled Milkmaid). I wanted to capture those deep, and softly muted tones that is often seen in these paintings. I knew that this session would be best photographed using film, so I dove in and shot my first 3 rolls of color film (35mm Portra 800). I just love the way the light leaks through the Gossamer lace vintage skirt! Claire Hardin of Inkling Calligraphy beautifully made the love letter written by Beethoven and Carly Potter provided the Dutch inspired floral arrangement.
Thank you to Belle Lumiere for sharing this on your journal!
